Brainwave Entrainment
Brainwave entrainment is a way to achieve a state that it is difficult for you to reach on your own. If you find it hard to relax for example, or to sleep, you can use brainwave entrainment to help you. You simply listen to a special kind of audio and your brain waves begin to synchronize with the beat or tone that is embedded in the sound.
To use brainwave entrainment for insomnia you need to listen to an audio that is embedded with the type of rhythm that your brain is in in when you are falling asleep and sleeping. We know what this rhythm is from recording the EEG of people who are sleeping. We know that when you shut your eyes and relax your brain produces slower waves which we call alpha waves. This is also the kind of wave it produces when you are meditating.
After a while your brain waves move into a sleep pattern and when you are deeply asleep the brainwaves will be quite slow. We call these delta waves. Your brain will cycle between faster and slower waves throughout the night.
If when you are ready to sleep you relax in bed with your eyes closed and
listen to a brainwave entrainment audio designed to help you to fall sleep, your
brainwaves will begin to synchronize with those sounds. When your brain begins
to produce these slower waves itself it helps you to relax. As you relax the
audio will guide your brainwaves down into the theta and delta waves of light
and then deep sleep. You will fall asleep easily and naturally as you listen,
without needing any sleeping pills.
